The choir
The sound of Granada.
The Granada Rock Choir is an intergenerational choir. It was founded in October 2022 under the musical direction of Teresa Martínez, counts around 60 members and has become a reference choir in the Andalusian city.
In addition to sharing repertoire with its sister choirs in the rock choir network of Spain, the Granada Rock Choir devotes part of its repertoire to Rock granaíno, an undisputed genre of the city, covering songs by Miguel Ríos, Morente and Lagartija Nick or Los Ángeles among other bands.
Among the group's notable performances are their participation in the Rock n' choirs festivals of Barcelona, Tarragona and Sant Cugat, as well as performances in Torrelodones, Torremolinos, Jaén or Tarifa among other municipalities. They have stood out with "sold out" shows on the major stages of their city, such as the Teatro Isabel la Católica or the Auditorio Manuel de Falla, and their collaboration with Miguel Ríos in the concert the singer gave in Granada on his tour celebrating the 40th anniversary of the album Rock and Ríos.
They have appeared several times in the media such as El Ideal de Granada or Canal Sur and also carry out a social and cultural dynamization role in the city, creating participatory choral actions in different locations around the city or street concerts, such as those held in Plaza de las Pasiegas, as well as urban "performances", bringing music, for example, to the Granada metro.
